Yeah, I'm poor and in college. I live in a tiny studio apartment in a city, working in the morning to support myself and in the hopes of one day paying off student loans. Over time I have gleaned some tips that have helped me in my poor life, I may share them with you when I remember to.
Warning, Sarcasm abundant.

Entry One: TURN THE DAMN LIGHTS OFF If you are poor and can't afford much of anything, why do you have lights? Right now I want you to go and break every light bulb in your house, I'll wait. ... Now that you have done that you will notice how much less ugly you look. If people can't see you, people can't judge you. Although, why the hell are you bringing them to your house anyway? That's not ideal for anyone poor, not at all. In all seriousness, for those who are poor, electricity can become expensive for most of us. Turning off the lights can save a good chunk of cash that will build up over time. You don't need the lights and after a while you may begin to like natural lighting and the dark. I try and open all the windows in my apartment and not use the lights until atleast 7 or 8pm. I save a small amount each month that goes into a savings account. Commit the frig to this and the environmentalists might get off your ass...

I try not to use the light in my dorm except at night, and the bathroom light, I always turn off if nobody is using the shower/bath. I do not understand why other people do not do this.

Entry Two: CUT YOUR OWN FRAKKIN HAIR Some of you may be in shock right now after reading that, I understand that my blog fan base(all 0 of you) has a lack of intellegence. So let me explain this to you. While not ideal, cutting your own hair saves up a good chunk of cash over time, even if you go to supercuts or somewhere you can find other creepy persons such as yourself. This is much harder for those of us with shorter hair, but you will get better at it as time goes on and more people laugh at you(probably not, but who knows). I have cut my hair before to save money. Not many people really pay attention to your hair unless it really stands out. I say take a risk and give your wallet a break. Pay special attention to the back of your head with the scissors, that area tends to be the most difficult. Wetting your hair and doing this in the bathroom also makes things easier. There is no shame in doing this, well... perhaps a little...

I would not be able to do that, I have really thick hair, but many little kids do it, not on purpose lol, and everyone in the tv show 19 kids and counting do that to save money.
