“Om”
Siddhartha is a book about a young man on his journey to find complete inner peace. On his way he stumbles across many challenges. He also learns a lot about himself through other people. His best friend Govinda accompanies him on his journey until they come to where Gotama is preaching and Govinda decided to let Siddhartha go on his own while he stays to worship Gotama. The major character who helps Siddhartha is the ferryman. He shows Siddhartha that everything a person has to learn in life is in the river. After facing the challenges of leaving his father, splitting from his friend, loving a prostitute, being an unhappy businessman, finding his son, losing his son, attempting suicide, and finding himself...does Siddhartha ever find inner peace? I would really recommend this book to EVERYONE! It was a great book to read and the first book I have read in a while. Siddhartha is a GREAT read!
