Task One Welcome guys to your very first task! This task will determine where each player basically stands in their writing ability, and it will also determine who is the first person to be sent home in the game! Today's writing task will be a BOOK REVIEW. Your job is to pick any book you've read before and write a book review on that book. I wont be giving you a guideline, because I'm expecting you guys to add any information you think would be included in a good book review! After 48 hours, Softball and I will then judge each piece of writing on a scale from 1-10. Then our scores will be added up and the lowest scoring person will be eliminated from the game! I wish you all luck... Complete this is your journal! Read more: realitygames-r-us.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=uwclipboard&action=display&thread=401#ixzz10Ss2waKE

Billy Boyle: A World War II Mystery By James R. Benn
Suspense, intrigue, romance, history, and mystery are all words one could use to describe James R. Benn's first novel in the Billy Boyle series. I recently came across his book as a free ebook download for my Nook. At first glance, the title might sound a little boring to some and cause people to skip over reading it because they may not be interested a novel about World II. However, it is a lot better than the title implies.
While reading Benn's work, you do not even realize that what you are reading is actually "historical." Benn is able to blend the history in with the mystery in the perfect way. His book ends up being about much more than history.
Billy Boyle, a detective from Boston, has recently joined the United States efforts in World II. He was hoping to get a nice desk job back in the states, through some family favors. One of his distant relatives happens to be none other than General Eisenhower. His "Uncle Ike", however, has other plans in store for him. Billy instead finds himself right in the middle of the action, in London. Everyone believes that Billy is some stellar detective, what they really don't know is that the only reason he got to where he is was through his father and uncle.
Based on Billy's "stellar" detective skills, Uncle Ike charges Billy with figuring out who is really a spy for the Germans. Along the way, Billy also becomes part of a murder investigation, makes new friends that he never imagined having, and finds the love of his life.
The thing that makes Benn's novel great is the fact that he doesn't give away the ending to the book, before it is over. He does not give details away that would allow the reader to figure out the mystery. Once you think you have everything figured out in this book, you start second guessing yourself. A lot of mystery and thriller books give away the ending, before you actually read it. Benn's novel is different and that is what makes it great.
