Memories of Snow

I stare out the window
As the cold surrounds me
Holding to thoughts of tomorrow,
Hoping and praying things I can’t see.

Memories of the past long ago
Race through my mind
As it begins to snow
Hiding the answers I need to find.

The world’s falling down, falling out, falling in
I can’t remember the dreams of forever to end
I’m falling apart, falling out, falling in
Afraid to move on and ready to sin

I feel the darkness as it inches closer
Willing me to follow him to the warm
Where I can forget my life’s father
And no longer have to mourn

Mourn the loss of everything that I hold dear
The child that’s forgotten
The dreams that is still lying there
Waiting to finally be taken.
