When Robert inherited his father’s farm house he had no idea what he was taking on. His father was an inventor of sorts. The farm was old and everything was pretty much dead except for a horse Scrutiny, that seemed to move on brief occasions. Robert’s father died of unknown causes in the home less than a month ago. Robert wasn’t rich, nor poor, but he just got out of a messy divorce and the farm house was so secluded that he thought it was the perfect place to exile himself from society and any contact from his ex-wife.
The first night Robert noticed the glowing purple lights coming from the barn, the stallion made loud noises and thrusting sounds, Robert found it hard to get any sleep. He got up and saw the clock, two in the morning. He went to the dusty window and got a better look at the light in the barn that he didn’t think much of at first. He saw the large barn doors swinging and a shadowy figure walking inside. Quickly he put on some pants and ran outside with a wooden baseball bat.
He slowly walked into the barn and noticed a large machine with electric currents rising out, he saw Scrutiny literally cut to pieces and reassembled to form a unnatural creature. Like ghosts in the Barn strange flying snakes seemed to move around Robert, he looked behind him and a glare in the purple light seemed to show another dimension, one where his father stood, Robert walked beyond the machine and into the purple light.
The world was dark, and the skies were purple, he saw his father, or at least half of his father, yellow rotten teeth, and red eyes. He looked at Robert and lifted his arms, which were tentacles that had blender like moving blades. The thing that Robert may have once believed was his father transformed into a beast. Robert turned in horror towards the farm house which seemed a bit different in this alternate reality that he once called home.
Into the cold house he went, the back door bashed open and in walked two large penguin looking creatures, they were huge, their stomachs looked like that of a cows utter, with thousands of snake like parts wiggling wildly. Robert let out a scream, and his face grew white. The ‘penguins’ moved towards him quickly with their sharp teeth and thousand eyes glaring in the purple sun.
Robert ran quickly to the barn and saw the machine fuming, he jumped into his reality and fell to the ground. He looked in and saw the ‘beings’ watching him in ah. Robert started to hit the machine with the baseball bat and destroyed it. He sat there a moment then stood up, sweaty and half sane he walked out of the barn, behind a haystack a dark figure watched in hunger and slowly crept towards Robert for a nightly snack.
