Story:
Fearless
Kate’s eyes scanned the room before her. Five men, five guns. All pointed at her.
She had been stupid. Over played it. Something that Kate Saunders never did.
She had been an undercover agent for the counter terrorism unit for a year and she had never been burned before. She was the best undercover agent there was having lived a lie for eight years. Ever since the day her family had died, the day that she had died, she had put on a hard outer shell. Kate pushed everyone a way. She couldn’t let anyone get close. She couldn’t let them feel the same pain. Once she had finished her work. Finished making up for letting her family die. She was going to kill herself, she had known that for a long time now.
But she wasn’t ready to die. If she did than the other agents undercover in the sleeper cell would be endanger. She couldn’t abandon them like she had her family when she ran out of the burning building without noticing they weren’t behind her. She couldn’t give up. She had to keep fighting. Find a way out.
Yet her heart said otherwise. “Please, I told you I’m…” She said her voice even yet the men seemed to see right through it. “Shut up!” one shouted. “Kate Saunders, FBI right?” he asked chuckling lightly.
They had found her real name. There was nothing she could do. No way out of it.
Five guns. Five men. No chance to fight them off.
She was alone… As good as dead.
Her eyes locked with one of the men. She knew what he was thinking. Knew what was going to happen. And she sure wasn’t going to let it. She couldn’t risk the others being found out. She didn’t think she would crack under torture. But she couldn’t take that chance.
She knew what she had to do and she wasn’t scared. She had known this day would come.
She smiled at the men. Her eyes taunting them playfully. She was going to try and take as many of them down. It was the least she could do. Her arm slowly began to move toward her gun. The men shouted for her to stop, but she just stared them down with fearless eyes. Soon she felt the cool metal and grasping it tightly. Taking one last breath she pulled her hand in front of her firing off two shots before the room was filled with a hail of bullets. Kate continued to pull the trigger even as bullets made contact with her skin. She didn’t even feel the pain. By the time she hit the ground she was already dead.
However she had taken out two men on her way down and as if she knew it there was still a smile on her face.

Hello, my names Kate and if your reading this than I’m dead. Let me assure you that it’s best this way. I’ve always known that it was going to happen, I counted on it. After all I’m not really alive, I haven’t been for eight years. Of course I’m getting ahead of myself. You’re probably wondering who I really am.
I was born on July Fourth 1987 in Washington, D.C. as Kathleen Saunders. My parents were Dillon and Jordon . I had two older sisters by a year. Annalyn and Raelin, twins. We were very close, doing everything together. My dad was a high power lawyer and my mom well she didn’t need to work. Dad made enough money to buy us a big house, and make sure we had everything we needed… and wanted.
When I was thirteen my dad took us to New York. He had a meeting at the world Trade center. He brought us with him since it wouldn’t take long and we’d be able to go shopping after. However it turned out to be a bad day to be there. It was September 11, 2001. There was no warning before the plan hit. We were on a floor a few floors below it. The ceiling started to cave in and fire broke out just down the hall.
I was terrified so terrified. All I could see was smoke. All I could hear was screaming. All I wanted was to get out of there. Even after sustaining an injury to my ankle I began to run. I ran as fast as I could. Right to the stair well where I half feel down several flights. Jumping over dead and dying people.
I made it out of the building. Not even looking back to make sure my family had been behind me. It wasn’t until later that I realized they weren’t there. I did everything I could to find them, but it was too late. Days later I was told they had been found among the rubble. That day Kathleen died.
I inherited my family’s fortune. But I didn’t want it. I gave half of it away and stuck the rest in a back account as if it was cursed. I was sent to live with my uncle but he didn’t want me. He didn’t care, and frankly nor did I. We kept out distance and I lived my life on my own, never letting anyone get close to me. I knew I was going to die, and didn’t want anyone to be hurt like I had. I would have killed myself there and then, but I knew I had betrayed my family, left them to die, and I needed to make it up to them. Once I did that then I would be free to die. That’s why I joined the FBI and now that I’m dead I hope I lived up to my promise, and even more I hope none of you will mourn me.
Song:
The Night
In the middle of the night
In a world far away
A child loses the will to fight
And she slowly flies away
She’s all alone
Lost without a dream
Trapped by a heart of stone
Unable to scream
She sees the way
Knows the light
She’s the dark inside the night
She hears your hopes
Feels your dreams
And in the dark she hears your screams
She’s not what she should be
Knows the price she must pay
'Cause the persons you see
Are the parts that she plays
She lost hope long ago
That life could be forgiving
Locked away by a shadow
She decided to stop living
She sees the way
Knows the light
She’s the dark inside the night
She hears your hopes
Feels your dreams
And in the dark she hears your screams
Lord bring on the night
In a world far away
Let it hold her tight
And she slowly flies away
