Hey guys. I am thinking of running a Top Chef game here at some point. I have put a lot of work into it, but I want to know if the community would be up for it before I submit it to Chad.
You would probably need a paint program, and the realization that it is unlike any other ORG you have ever played. It will take some time and devotion, but I think it will be a welcome break from Survivor, Big Brother games - if that's something you're interested in.
If I get enough Yes votes, I'll submit to Chad and we'll see what happens.
Thanks guys.
Jason

For those of you voting Maybe - feel free to ask questions here, and I would be more than happy to answer them.

Maybe if you were to explain the game a bit more?

Sure, here's my plan without giving the whole outline:
There will be 12 contestants and the game will follow the first season of Top Chef and the challenges will try to mimic them as much as possible.
There will be a wide variety of challenges, some involve making things with Photoshop/Paint, some involve scavenger hunts around the web etc. Each round will have a Quickfire challenge which will earn a chef either immunity or a great advantage later. Each round will finish with an Elimination challenge where someone will be cut from the game. There will be guest judges from the RGRU site that will be part of a panel that will help decide each time as well as a popular vote.
The real unique part of the challenge will be the "shopping" part of it. Each episode you guys will get a certain amount of money and will have to "shop" online for ingredients to make your creations. You will actually show me screen captures of receipts, etc. Part of the fun will be coming up with what you think are fun recipes and fun creations for the challenge.
In the end the finalists will actually come up with their own recipes for the final challenge, and I will make them here in my house and have people taste them, and real people will decide the winner based on real food. There will also be a "fan favorite" that will be determined by the players.
It's a real unique game, and unlike anything else you have played. I'd love to really try it here. Hope that clears some stuff up - ask away.

I worry about garnering interest from people outside of RGRU, but I'm intrigued by the concept. Maybe put this on the backburner until we have a stronger following at RGRU?

I'd play it. Sounds like a breath of fresh air. The only thing that worries me is how well the game could be executed, it sounds very hard to host time-wise.
